Choosing the Right Spirit Level

Spirit levels are incredibly useful tools that help you determine if a surface is level or if it is askew. You have a wide range of choices when it comes to choosing a spirit level for your construction project. Not all spirit levels are the same and not all of them are 100% accurate. Some are made from plastic while others are made from aluminum. Here are some things to look for when you are choosing a spirit level to ensure that you get one that is useful, accurate and functional.

A Low Manufacturing Tolerance

You want to check with your spirit level’s manufacturer to determine what quality assurance programs they use to determine the accuracy of their products and what guarantees they offer. A spirit level’s manufacturing tolerance is defined as the sum of all of the problems or faults that may occur during the manufacturing process. Easy to Read Measurements

This means you will rely heavily on your spirit level to make sure your projects and cuts are even. If your level is not 100% accurate your work will not be precise. This could be disastrous or just annoying. Either way you want to avoid it. It is important that you take a few minutes to do a little research and read a few reviews on the spirit level you are considering buying. You should also take a moment to inspect it before you leave the store with your new spirit level.
